Abstract

In 1924, Republican presidential candidate Calvin Coolidge organized The Lincoln Tour, a 56-day, cross-country road rally of 100,000 automobiles that was designed to be a continuous political parade along the Lincoln Highway, the first transcontinental road for automobiles in the country. This is a photograph of a truck from the Calvin Coolidge and Charles Dawes campaign's Lincoln Tour.

Gregory Corso autograph lenticular postcard depicting an image of the Virgin Mary to his father (Sam Corso) is dated August 8, 1980, and written while Corso was in Italy and described a terrorist bombing in Bologna. Professor Emeritus of marine studies Franklin C. Daiber (1919-2003) and his wife Joanne Currier Daiber (1927-2007) were two of the first marine scientists hired by the University of Delaware in the 1950s. The Franklin C. and Joanne Currier Daiber papers include correspondence, photographs, negatives, artwork, and publications documenting their personal relationships and professional research and scholarship as marine scientists at the University of Delaware in the mid-twentieth century.
